A Blessing in Disguise: How Photography Became My Calling
For as long as I can remember, I used to say, “I wish I had a talent that I could use to make money.” Little did I know, God was already planting the seeds of a gift that would one day become my calling. Photography wasn’t something I chased—it slowly but surely made its way into my life. What began as a hobby for personal use and a way to take pictures of close friends and family, with absolutely no confidence in what I loved to do, has transformed into a business that blesses me—and others—every day.
From Hobby to Heartfelt Business
For years I snapped photos quietly, just for me. I loved capturing beautiful moments of my kiddos and the people closest to me, but I never imagined anyone would actually want me—little ol’ me—to take their photos. It took a lot of convincing from friends, family, and mentors before I finally took a leap of faith and went all in.
That leap changed everything.
Today, as a Simi Valley photographer serving Ventura County and beyond, I can clearly see God’s hand in this journey. He used my passion for photography not only to document precious memories of my own family but to bless other families, seniors, and individuals with images they’ll treasure for a lifetime.
God’s Perfect Timing
Looking back, it’s obvious that none of this happened by accident. The Lord placed the perfect teachers and mentors in my path—people who didn’t just teach me about lighting, composition, and editing but also spoke truth about God into my life. Through their encouragement and His grace, my confidence began to grow.
The transformation hasn’t only been about skill; it’s been about faith. God has used this business to answer prayers I didn’t even know how to pray—giving me the chance to do what I love while also providing for my family financially. It’s a huge blessing in disguise.

One of the biggest blessings through this journey has been the growth of my confidence—not just in my talent but in the One who gave it to me. Every client, every session, every new opportunity is a reminder of His faithfulness. There’s no way I would be where I’m at today without His grace.
