Samantha’s Beach Senior Photos
To say I was beyond honored to photograph Samantha’s senior session is truly an understatement.
Samantha traveled all the way from Arizona to have her senior photos taken here, and that alone meant so much to me. When someone chooses you to capture such an important milestone, especially from out of state, it’s incredibly special.
It also made perfect sense that Samantha chose the beach for her senior portraits. In just a few short months, she’ll be heading to the islands to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she plans to study Kinesiology. With a future surrounded by sunshine, ocean breezes, and an active lifestyle, the beach felt like the perfect place to capture this exciting chapter of her life.
Samantha isn’t just heading to Hawaii for the views. Her passion for sports and staying active clearly helped inspire her choice of major.
She’s played volleyball, beach volleyball, and flag football, and you can see that athletic confidence in every photo. There’s something about athletes that shows up naturally on camera. They carry themselves with confidence, strength, and energy that translates beautifully into portraits.
Why the Beach Was the Perfect Location
Beach sessions have a way of feeling timeless and free-spirited. The movement of the waves, the glow of sunset, and the open horizon create a setting that feels both peaceful and powerful.
For Samantha, it also symbolized something bigger: the next adventure waiting for her in Hawaii.
Golden hour gave us that soft, dreamy light that makes beach portraits feel almost magical. It’s one of the reasons I love scheduling most of my sessions right before sunset. The light is softer, warmer, and incredibly flattering for portraits.
